Garden progress

There is finally some progress on the garden! We had to submit our plans and wait for approval from the HOA (which was extremely quick in their positive response). My husband took a shopping trip last week while I was teaching and came home with wood and screws for the garden beds. Yesterday, we put together one 4' x 8' bed. He did most of the work, but he also took the pictures.

I know power tools have that name because they use electricity, but I find them empowering!

Ta-da!
Sometime soon, we will put down anti-weed fabric, mix up some Mel's Mix (1/3 peat moss, 1/3 compost, 1/3 vermiculite), and mark off our square feet across the top. First, we need to figure out where to get vermiculite in the quantities that we need. Any square foot gardeners out there have suggestions for me?

I'm linking up:

We cleaned out two box stores of vermiculite & pearlite when we started our garden (and it was only 4'x4'). Do you have any local garden stores around?

We've really been wanting to do this. I'll be watching to see how yours comes out. Thanks so much for linking this up to our Wicked Awesome Wednesday party!

Great job! We have a box garden that is growing like weeds. We simply used potting soil and black cow mixed in. The plants are doing wonderful
